Minor Moon opened their EP-release set with this last night. It is so great. It’s haunting and funky, and builds momentum steadily (“the water is rising, the water is rising”). Lead singer Sam Cantor’s vocals rock.
I played it for Johnny today, and he said “I love this guitar player!”
The record is out now on Bandcamp.
I also really like the song they closed with:
Johnny said: “It sounds like ‘Spooky‘.” He’s right!
There’s a sultry electric piano riff I love, the guitar / trumpet rock, and the thing closes with a groovy, arhythmic drum beat.
[Paul Moody and the Roaming Gloamers opened the concert, and Night Tonic closed it (Minor Moon was sandwiched in between). Paul et al. laid a solid foundation and Night Tonic put on a fun, lively show.]
